MOM’S guide for Smart Spending

Are you interested in saving money off your grocery bills? How about keeping extra cash for future, more important use? Here are money saving tips that can certainly make a dent in every mom’s budget.
Take the time to list exactly what you need before heading to the grocery store or wet market. This helps cut down on impulse buying. The overused adage can certainly be applicable even in grocery shopping. Knowing the prices of items commonly purchased for your home will enable you to find the same items at a lower price. Take note of information such as volume or quantity. These will help you accurately compare the unit prices of different commodities.
Monitor your ATM withdrawals. Decide how much you will take out each week and make it last. Make it a little tight and try to decrease it over time if you can. If you have money left at the end of the week, put it into your savings account.
Cook from scratch as often as possible. This can be up to 6 times less expensive than buying a mix, frozen meal or eating out, and is usually more nutritious. Cut back on red meats; try fish & vegetables instead. These are generally less expensive and healthier. Stock up on things you use when they are on sale. Get six weeks worth. That’s about how often they’ll go on sale again. Don’t spend money if it’s not in the budget. Find the little unessential expenses that eat up your budget (fast food trips, toy stores, new fashions, etc). If you add up all these unnecessary items, you’d be surprised at how much you’ve been overspending.
Replace malling with family activities or nature outings. Remember that being together is more important than fancy shopping or entertainment.

Use these valuable tips and you’ll be a smarter wiser Mom that your family could certainly be proud of!!!
